The project will span 70,000 square feet and is expected to open in 2027.

Dubai Retail has announced the first retail and lifestyle destination at Palm Jebel Ali.

Dubai Retail is one of the largest groups of malls and retail destinations in the UAE and sits under the umbrella of Dubai Holding Asset Management.

In a post published by the Dubai Media Office on X, the new lifestyle destination will be named ‘The Yard’.

The Yard will blend and fuse together 26 different concepts, ranging from retail, fine dining, wellness and healthcare to name a few.

It is expected to be able to serve and cater for over 20,000 residents across both The Yard and surrounding communities close to the new project.

The sheer scale and size of the project is underscored by the fact that the area is approximately 70,000 square feet.

The timeline in terms of completion of The Yard is 2027, with some real estate commentators suggesting it will be ready by Q4 next year.

Palm Jebel Ali takes shape

Palm Jebel Ali is the brainchild of Nakheel, and is actually 50 per cent bigger than the world-famous Palm Jumeirah.

The establishment of The Yard by Dubai Retail is expected to trigger a wave of new development projects on Palm Jebel Ali, with more investments expected to follow.

Palm Jebel Ali was revived in 2024, after years of stagnation and stalling.

Construction on Palm Jebel Ali began in 2002 but hit the buffers following the global financial crash in 2008.

However, the project has now been revived and 80 hotels are expected to be constructed over the next 5 years.
